Oberpollinger

Vizona creates high-quality individual spaces with eye-catching details for the KaDeWe Group department stores. For example, on the ground floor of the Oberpollinger (Munich) 150 m² of exclusive “beauty engineering” was employed for the niche beauty area: eleven form-fitting product islands and two larger pieces of free-standing furniture, ornate mirrors suspended from the ceiling and beauty zones with loungers and washbasins. The entire structure painted in monochrome with its many brass elements presents an elegant backdrop for the uniform display of the curated brands. The space also harmonises well with the building’s new design. Since 2016, Oberpollinger has been undergoing a transformation process based on plans drawn up by John Pawson with the aim of becoming an open department store combining both historical awareness and urban lifestyle. The British architect focuses on everyone’s “need for calmness and concentration” as he explained to the German Architectural Digest Magazine.
