Sustainability

Sustainability as a core part of who we are

As a shopfitter and general contractor, we aim to create solutions that are long-lasting and conserve resources. Taking responsibility means acting consciously in every project, every process and every partnership.

– We support our clients in designing and building with the environment in mind.
This includes selecting materials that are recyclable or sourced responsibly. –

Our production complies with current environmental standards, and we also take responsibility along our supply chain. We collaborate with partners chosen according to clearly defined ecological criteria and who share our commitment to sustainable practices. With the EcoVadis sustainability rating, we make our efforts both visible and measurable. It allows us to reflect on our processes and improve them even more efficiently.

Sustainability in fashion retail. Is it possible?

The “Conscious Fashion Store” by Peek & Cloppenburg at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin sets out to answer that question. Its architecture and interior follow a holistic approach that brings together responsibility, material awareness and reduction. It is a clear statement in favor of more sustainable minimalism. Every element, from the flooring to the textiles, follows one principle: sustainability begins by removing what is unnecessary and deliberately choosing what remains.

Compared with a conventional store, the project saved 900 square meters of plasterboard that would typically be used for wall cladding. The result is an open and honest space that allows the architecture to breathe while conserving resources.

The material choices also reflect this mindset. What looks like refined marble at first glance is actually made from recycled yogurt cups. The furniture created from it is durable, functional and helps significantly reduce waste.

The interior is complemented by natural and environmentally friendly materials such as natural felt, ash veneer and stainless steel with eccentric grinding. Water-based coatings provide a sustainable surface finish without compromising on quality or aesthetics.

Flexibility is another key aspect of the concept. The modular furniture is not fixed in place but can be repositioned or recombined as needed. This extends its lifespan and reduces the effort required for future adjustments.

Even the brand logos were approached with flexibility in mind. Instead of mounted signage, they are projected onto the walls. It is a simple yet effective idea that saves material and makes updates easy.

The lighting concept fits seamlessly into this sustainable overall system. A subdued LED base lighting combined with targeted spotlights creates a harmonious atmosphere while significantly reducing energy consumption. “Less light, more highlights” is the principle that merges aesthetics with efficiency.

The store shows what sustainable design can look like today: reduced, functional and forward-looking. For us, sustainability is an ongoing development, one we actively shape. We see it as a shared responsibility that only works through collaboration between us, our partners and our clients. Our goal is to create spaces that make responsibility visible through quality and longevity.
